Conflicted Love by Lola Stark is book two in her Needle’s Kiss series. I will commence by stating that this book should be read after Tattered Love (book one in the series). Although it deals with a different hero/heroine, the storyline in the preceding book does flow into this one. Further, we get a glimpse of what is coming in this book at the end of Tattered Love. So, moving forward. What happens when two friends who give into one night of lust must deal with the consequences of their one moment of weakness? Well, we are about to find out.....

“I like my dick outta my pants; it finds all kinds of fun shit to do.” – Trip

Trip Torres lives a very carefree life. He’s sexy. He’s all tatted up and pierced. He loves the ladies and the ladies love him. Life for Trip is about having fun, living for the moment and getting off as much as possible. One night irrevocably changes his life forever. After dealing with the undeniable attraction he feels for his boss’s best friend (and his friend as well) for quite some time, Trip decides that he must have her. One drunken night of pleasure. Screw the consequences. Oops.

“I couldn’t see anything past her.

All of this brought me to one obvious conclusion.

I’m as good as fucked.” - Trip

Teeny Garret has not had an easy go of life with a mother with her own personal demons to focus on rather than her daughter and a father who bailed on his family. She is strong. She can deal. No one penetrates her highly erected defenses. That is until she decides to finally let go one night when pursued by her best friend’s tattoo artist from Needle’s Kiss. What’s the worst that can happen from one night of mindless amazing sex? Um....oops!

Now, after one night of passion, Teeny and Trip find themselves all wrapped up in crazy. Teeny is pregnant. Trip is more than scared about the entire situation. And both of them are dealing with undeniable feelings they have developed for one another that have now come to the surface. Pregnancy. Hormones. Tension. Will Trip and Teeny find their way through food cravings, swollen feet, crazy bouts of tears and all sorts of confusion?

This was a very sweet read and I could not help but fall in love with Trip and all his stupid attempts to make Teeny realize that he can be the man she needs in her life. I love the fact that he manned up and did everything he could to help Teeny out. Teeny’s many efforts to push Trip away did get on my nerves but I did understand where she was coming from. She did not exactly have stellar role models while growing up and was most definitely an emotional stump. Who knew it would take an unplanned pregnancy and a persistent tattooed baby daddy to push her past all those emotional hurdles that she had clung to most of her life? And, who would have thought that an unrepentant man-whore could fall hard for the one woman who does not put up with his crap and truly sees him for who he is?

“Don’t push me, Princess. I’m clear out of give-a-fucks and my dick’s so hard it could hammer nails. Move that sweet ass before I bend it over and fuck it into oblivion.”

Teeny was everything I always thought I didn’t want but needed all at the same time.

I felt like I needed to do something special for her to show my appreciation. It wasn’t like Hallmark had a card that read ‘Thanks for destroying your vag with my spawn’.

Trip and Teeny journey into parenthood and into a happy forever had me laughing, sighing and all hot and bothered. All in all, Conflicted Love is a great installment to this series. We get to also catch up with Mace and Scarlett and the pair share some special moments that had my heart all fluttery. Heart-warming. Sweet. Funny. Steamy. Can’t ask for more in a book. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book which will be about Haven (Trip and Mace’s little sister) and Jude (Mace’s best friend).
