Laurel White is living a life feeling like she is simply going through the motions. Something is missing that keeps her from emotionally plugging into life. When she meets Michael Flynn there is something about his energy and aura that calls to her. This man is pure male and testosterone and Laurel is definitely taking notice. Suddenly, she becomes this outwardly forthright woman all up in his personal space wanting to spend some more time with him. Initially Flynn is a little wary of Laurel but, despite this, he issues her an invitation to watch him fight. He is a boxer and fights in the underground circuit. He is hoping that watching him will scare her off. When Laurel shows up to watch him fight and discovers that Flynn is also into the rougher side of sex, Laurel is even more intrigued and fascinated. What ensues is an agreement between two consenting adults to explore their fantasies which quickly turns into something more real and complex.

Flynn did come across as rude, course and abrasive at first; however, as we get to know him, we see that he is genuinely a caring sweet man despite his “rougher needs”. I really liked Laurel right from the start. She saw something that fascinated her and went for it despite her many fears. It took courage and a lot of guts on her part. After all, Flynn has intimidation down to an art form. This is not an overly long book so nothing gets to multidimensional or complicated. What you get are two people who meet, explore the grittier side of sexual fantasies and discover that they want much more from one another than just sex. I do wish this book was a lot longer. I wanted so much more of Flynn. Damn, he got under my skin!

All in all, Willing Victim was a sexually exciting book full of risqué sex scenes. This book is not for everyone as the content may be offensive to those not interested in the darker side of sex. Definitely heed the warning provided by the author. Do not read this if you want fluff and sweet bunnies prancing around merrily. Do not read this if you want a sweet ending all tied up with a little pink bow. While Laurel and Flynn do end up being together in the end, the fact remains that these two individuals have not known each other for very long and there are no words about forever spoken nor were there declarations of love exchanged. What you get are two individuals who find one another and want to explore their relationship and see where things go. Essentially, this book is not sentimental and it is not about a desperate undying love. With this being said, do go into this book expecting naughty and raunchy good times. I really enjoyed this book. Must be because.....
