4 Stars!
Fury is book one in Laurann Dohner's New Species series. I have been meaning to start this series for quite some time now; however, the price of the books had me a little reluctant. I bit the bullet so to speak and am very glad that I finally decided to give this series a go. This book (and series) sort of falls under a PNR/Sci-Fi-esque genre and for me it was definitely a guilty pleasure read that I enjoyed immensely. I found the concept and the overall story arc very intriguing and original.
You have a ballsy heroine who puts her life on the line to save a new species that were genetically engineered/altered by the pharmaceutical company, Mercile. She is intensely drawn to one of the new species, Fury, and despite a few major bumps in the road he can't seem to get her off his mind either. Ellie and Fury become the first human/new species couple, something that brings a lot of attention (both good and bad) to both Ellie and the new species. Can Ellie and Fury be compatible enough to have a happy forever?
Oh, and you get a whole lot of:
Again, I did mention this was a guilty pleasure read! ;)
All in all, Fury was a wonderful start to this series and I am definitely looking forward to reading more.
